Tesla Recalls Over 360000 U.S. Vehicles in the United States due to a safety concern with the vehicle’s whole self-driving software system. Concerns concerning the security and dependability of autonomous technology have been raised in light of this recall.

U.S. regulators said on Thursday that Tesla Recalls Over 360000 U.S. Vehicles in order to update its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta software since the driver assistance system did not adequately comply with traffic safety laws.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla software permits vehicles to exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner, raising the risk of a collision.

Despite Tesla’s disagreement with NHTSA’s analysis, it acquiesced to the safety agency’s request in January. Tesla has previously clashed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration over other safety issues and recalls.

Tesla Recalls Over 360000 U.S. Vehicles and  release a free over-the-air (OTA) software update for its vehicles. Its shares closed down 5.7% at $202.04 on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the EV maker stated that no injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of the recall. According to the automaker, 18 warranty claims had been filed.

Model S and Model X vehicles manufactured from 2016-2023, Model 3 vehicles manufactured from 2017-2023, and Model Y vehicles manufactured from 2020-2023 equipped with the FSD Beta software or in the process of being installed.

The U.S. senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal, both Democrats, said Tesla needed to stop overstating its vehicles’ capabilities.

Tesla’s driver assistance system has suffered yet another setback. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has frequently failed to meet his own targets for achieving self-driving technology, which he touts as a potential cash cow for the company.

In this case, federal regulators are intervening in a real-world testing program that the company sees as crucial to the development of autonomous vehicles.

There are less than two weeks until the company’s investor day on March 1, when Musk is expected to discuss the EV maker’s artificial intelligence capabilities and plans to expand its product line.

The business claims that FSD is a more advanced system that “provides more active guidance and assisted driving” under the active supervision of the driver, in contrast to Tesla’s Autopilot feature, which helps with steering, accelerating, and braking for other vehicles and pedestrians inside its lane. However, the Autopilot feature is only available on the Model S.
