Tennessee Rep. Timothy Hill has cleared the Republican primary hurdle, setting up an Aug. 3 general election to keep the legislative seat he was appointed to following the resignation of another legislator.
According to unofficial results released by the Tennessee secretary of state’s office on Thursday, Hill appeared to have defeated Republican opponent Stacy Vaughan easily in the Republican-leaning District 3 special election.
